Why should I accept a higher amount of money on UC compared to my ESA but a totally inadequate payment frequency (monthly)?! I am not going to try to budget to please anyone at the DWP! I know I can’t do it, I’ve never had the money management skills. The DWP want as many to accept monthly pay as possible because of this “world of work” look. I know I won’t be accepting it. My best interests have to come first and not the DWP’. How often payments land in my bank account, that has to work for me.

I am autistic/have severe autism - this contributes to my poor skills when handing money. The payment frequency on ESA is wonderful for me, it works for me. And that won’t change on UC when I do move. Fortnightly pay RULES! DWP, they can ABSOLUTELY forget monthly pay. This vulnerable, autistic claimant won’t be accepting it.

When I move over to UC from the ESA Support Group I will CATEGORICALLY not be accepting monthly pay in my life and be asking for fortnightly pay via an Alternative Payment Arrangement . Words don’t describe how much I don’t care that this benefit has a “world of work” look, where it was designed to pay monthly like so many jobs. I will not accept a payment frequency that doesn’t work for me. I’m terrible with money and don’t have the skills, FAR FROM IT, to live off monthly pay.

I really hope my letter doesn’t come through that fast - I am on income related ESA right now. I am a claimant that’s in the Support Group. I can get my letter any time between now and December next year. I am no rush to move over. Not at all. I’d rather get mine next year.

Don't forget those with certain disabilities/conditions the DWP know about automatically qualify for "Transitional Protection" which remains until a major change of condition. On your 1st work coach meeting they will give you a 1 month bus pass and when your entitlements for ESA SG show up to UC your only commitments will be to report a change.

The reason why the DWP wants everyone on board with UC is because you are more likely to be targeted for searching for work. This is their plan. This will effect everyone who has migrated from the legacy benefits so what you have here everyone will eventually be affected by penalisation and will be forced to look for work.
This when the problems will start follow by people will end up getting stressed and get worried about getting penalised let alone will
Face sanctions. Like I said once everyone has moved over from the legacy benefits to universal credit, the mass panic will start and those who moved over with feel the consequences look for work or enforce in to work.

The main problem is a lot of people there who will struggle to find work and find themselves getting more ill in the process.
Some people might end up committing suicide due to this radical change in society because of the majority of people who are mentally illwho are not geared up to work.

This is one step in the cruel plans of the DWP and labour have install for us and not only the long-term sick will be affected even the disabled will be affected too.
