The fear of God is the beginning of knowledge. Fools despise wisdom and instruction. 🙏♥️🙏

I can see how the verse about the fool saying "There is no God" could make it sound as if the person is taking a philosophical position in an ancient disputation.

That's why I prefer how the CSB translates this verse: "There's no God!" It's more like a kind of scoffing beneath their breath.

What is theism? The _claim_ that a god or gods exist _or_ the opinion that the existence of a god or gods is more likely (aka deism). What is atheism? There are 3 varieties: nonbelief (neutrality regarding gods), disbelief (the opinion that gods are unlikely) and, in extremely rare cases, outright denial (the _claim_ that no gods exist). Wiki got it right. This model works for pretty much any cryptid.

Amen! Romans 1 is the perfect place to go there. Also, if someone claims they KNOW there is no God, wouldn't that mean they have searched the whole universe? And if they claim to have that knowledge

Thank you brother John for your explanation on atheism and all other questions pertaining to life and Godliness in Christ.

It is so true, although they knew their God they did not give him thanks and praise.

I remember the gentle nudges that the word of God and the Holy spirit reminded me to turn from my evil ways .I did not want to hear as I loved my life of living in sin more, than I wanted to accept the knowledge of God or his existence.

As a well known evangelist Ray Comfort always quotes when he meets people, we run from God, just as the thief runs from the policeman, it is in the fear of being caught.Accepting the existence of the Lord would mean them to fully repent and bow before God and others of the life they have been living .

None of the athesits or God haters, would not want their dirty linen to be washed in public, so they rightly suppress the truth by their unrighteous acts.

We need more radical atheists like Apostle Paul and Zaccheus, coming in the light with their sins and acknowledging they have been the worst of sinners and they would give all what they owe to the Lord, even if it meant parting with 2/3 rd of their wealth and their life for the sake of the Gospel of Christ.

I believe when Adonai speaks He is God of all people and wants all people to come to know Him.

“I will give them a heart to know me that I am Adonai. They will be my people, and I will be their God; for they will return to me with all their heart.’”
‭‭Yirmeyahu (Jer)‬ ‭24‬:‭7‬ ‭CJB‬‬

This argument takes Psalm 14:1 out of context and tries to apply it as a blanket condemnation of atheism, but it doesn't hold up. The verse in question was written in a time when monotheism was developing, and the "fool" in the psalm is more likely referring to someone who acts immorally or lives as if there is no god, not someone who holds a modern, rational position of disbelief in gods based on a lack of evidence. The application of the term "atheism" to this passage is historically misplaced.

Furthermore, the way Paul interprets this in Romans 1, claiming that everyone knows God deep down, doesn't hold up either. The notion that humans inherently "know" of a god but suppress that knowledge is a theological assumption, not an empirical truth. The fact is, atheism is not a denial of some universally known truth; it's simply the recognition that there's no compelling evidence for the existence of gods. Atheism is based on the principle of withholding belief until sufficient evidence is presented—not a rejection of some innate knowledge of the divine.

What’s more, the presupposition that there are only five ways to "suppress" knowledge of God is just another theological imposition. If we’re talking about knowledge, then why doesn't everyone see this supposed evidence for a god the same way? If God's existence were so "plain, " surely everyone would recognize it equally, but we don’t. In fact, different cultures and belief systems have developed independently, often without any exposure to the specific "truth" being claimed here.

In the end, calling atheism "foolish" or "deadly" ignores the reality that atheists reject the concept of gods not out of rebellion, but out of a desire for evidence-based conclusions. Dismissing this position as foolish is simply refusing to engage with the legitimate reasons people have for not believing. It’s not about suppressing some internal truth; it’s about demanding reason and evidence before adopting beliefs.

1 Corinthians 1:27-31😊❤
"27 Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.
28 God chose things despised by the world,

things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. 29 As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.

30 God(😊100%❤)
has united😊❤ you(😊❤'s)
with Christ Jesus(😊1st❤)
. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us(😊❤'s)
right (😊❤)
with God(😊100%❤)
; he made us pure (😊❤)
and holy(😊❤)
, and he freed(😊❤)
us (😊❤)
from sin ( no good).
31 Therefore(😊❤)
,
as the Scriptures(😊❤) say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord( Jesus😊1st❤)
.”( 1 Corinthians 1:27-31 NIV)

Amd i whether be a fool for Jesus😊1st❤ than be a fool for the world. Do you think God can use the foolish things of the world to teach those who consider themselve smart in their own eyes.
