Solve Sec(theta) = Positive Number Using a Calculator in Interval 0 to 2Pi Radians
Показать описание
The trigonometric equation to be solved is sec(theta) = 1.0801. As there is no secant button on a calculator, then cos(theta) = 1/sec(theta) =1/1.0801. Theta is then found using the inverse cosine function on a TI 84 Plus calculator. It was required to find all solutions in the interval 0 to 2Pi radians. In this case the calculator gave one positive angle in QI. As the secant function is also positive in QIV, reference angles were used to find the solution in QIV.
