How to get over unrequited love

The feeling of loving someone (or really liking them) and not having feeling reciprocated can be absolutely dreadful. Especially if you have to see that person frequently, you really believe that you are a great match, or the way the person expressed disinterest to you really hurt.

I understand that unrequited love can feel like the kind of pain you may never get over. Your mind just cannot seem to let go of obsessing about the person and coming up with all the reasons you “should” be together. You go over and over again in your head how you could have said or done something different to make the person like you. You may even be strategizing on how you can change their mind and eventually make them fall in love with you.

My offering to you today is freedom from the pain you feel when a loving feeling is not mutual. And this not only applies to romantic love. We often suffer when we want to be someone’s friendship and feel they don't like us back.

It's nice to know other people are going through this. As a widow I go to the senior center and all of a sudden fell inlove with the man in charge there who is thirty years younger than me and doesn't feel the same. The worst part is the way I act around him like a giggling teenager, and everyone there thinks I'll of me cause I've dolled myself up and look different act different and am not myself. They are all shunning me and looking at me with disdain. I'm so embarrassed to be enjoying daydreaming about him and pretending he loves me to when I know it's all a delusion. I'm so ashamed, and yet I don't want these happy feelings to go away.

Unrequited love might not always be what it seems.
My girlfriend dumped me because she felt I didn't love her. It was so unbearable for her that she actually started rejecting me and eventually dumped me. I loved her, and still do but my lack of "fire" for her was likely caused by my severe case of porn and masturbation addiction. I immediately started applying a NO FAP / PMO rule into my life and I'm close to 7 days of no porn/fapping.
I know this will change my life and hopefully bring us back together.

You’ve struck a truth chord inside of me. The love we seek in others is already within. We are already perfect, whole and complete with or without this urequitted love, a trap that we often fall into. It’s a matter imof going back deep inside our own souls and owning it.
