In this video, I tell you how to make mistakes among the best tools to learn a new language.

We all hate being corrected but, in language learning, a slight change in attitude and the way you respond to mistakes will be a game changer.

By doing this, you will develop enough self-awareness to notice your own mistakes and their patterns much more than you did before.

Stay tuned for more videos!

I agree with all of this! I'm a perfectionist and I fear making mistakes, but I've learned to accept them. And if anyone shames me for my mistakes in French, I know that's their problem and not mine. Recently I've been much better at correcting myself on the fly, which is awesome! Thanks for your video, I think you made great points that people really need to take to heart. :)

After achieving some C1 certificates of languages, i still make mistakes and i‘m so grateful to be corrected. I do not care how many mistakes i’ve made, just how many corrections i‘ve got. They improve me a lot on my learning progress

I would rather someone correct when I make a mistake in Spanish b/c if no one tells me, I don't know it's incorrect and will keep making the same error.

I didn't know you learn Polish, it's difficult language. Anyway we say, ,na internecie'' or, ,w internecie'' when we spend time on the net, but for example when we make online transactions we say, ,przez internet''. However communication over perfection. Thanks for your great viedeo. Pozdrowienia z Polski ;)

I rather someone correct me, but they don't because many people think that's going to embarrass me, but is it actually for me one of the best way to remember the correct way of saying something.

Good to put a positive spin on mistakes. We do learn from correction, but sometimes I need to avoid teachers or language partners that seem to aggressive with correction. IMHO too much correction and too much grammar kills motivation.

A half Japanese American TV star speaks both perfect Japanese and English. He lives in Japan 40 more years. But I realized he has some mistakes which native speakers never do. It's impossible to be perfect. Making mistakes is nomal.

But many YouTubers make a video like "don't afraid of making mistakes." They think making mistakes isn't nomal thing.

In my opinion, you don't need to think about mistakes. Just listen native speakers videos, and when you find difference between you and them, you correct on your own. Or learn new expressions from them. You don't need to think about mistakes. Just learn. When you speak your first language, I assume you are bored. Because you don't make mistakes. To find your own mistakes is fun.

Tenerife,
Canary Islands,
Spain,
Africa.

Excellent points, as usual.
Keep up the great work!
(Oh, I wonder whose national day it is on the fifteenth of this month, just a couple of days before my own, and which language they speak, just in case some student of it would like to somehow celebrate it by showing how well he's doing with learning it.)

Best wishes,
Patchy.

Laugh about your mistakes but learn from them. I once wrote in a test "... so he becomes more money" the mistake was based on the German words "kommen" and "bekommen" which lead me to "become" instead of "get". You can make mistakes, it is part of the process, but you have to learn from them and try to avoid them the next time

Thank you man, your eng is definitely native level. I hope I'll attain this level, the prob is that I need to improve my accent at first. I can watch news in eng and catch around 90%/98% of the words.
