If the defense had technical know how of cellular phones, they could have finished Colonel long time ago. Colonel is always refering to downloads from the phone. The question they have to ask is, "can a cellphone make calls independent from the network provider. Such that the police can have information the network provider can't access" Then they start from there. This will bring Vodacom aboard and come forth and discredit all his evidence.

Advocate Nxumalo Sir, you do need to work on your phrasing when dealing with witnesses as a defense attorney. Always starting with "Is it correct that..." presents as weak and tonally timid in approach. Unfortunately, your profession uses English as a medium of communication so please Sir, work on your command of the language so you don't come across as apologetic and lacking authority. When met with animosity, stand your ground and maybe avoid looking at Ratha as that sends a body language gesture that suggests a need for endorsement, approval or intervention. Command your space. Your facts are weighted but lose power in presentation. No offence.

As far as I am concerned the phone downloads with regards to call records have to match the 205 records. Whether you have to add 2hrs or not, the numbers have to remain the same. Steyn has not been able to explain the difference in the numbers reflecting on the 2 different documents. If it was not Steyn then somebody in the chain of command edited the numbers(allegedly). But if it was not him then he should have picked up the discrepancy.
