If you are looking for a tough annual it's hard to beat Lantana. Lantana are heat tolerant, will tolerate less than ideal soils and usually don't need to be deadheaded. Watch this video with Noelle, Horticulturist, and Education Manager with Petitti Garden Centers, to learn more about growing Lantana indoors and out. Bonus? They are also known to have a high deer resistance in Northeast Ohio!

Noelle, Lantana is such a beautiful plant! Thank you for sharing information on growing conditions that allow the plant to thrive outdoors or indoors as well.

Very rarely does a plant label tell if the particular variety is sterile. I am in 5 b and plant Lantana “Samantha” each year, however those I get are variegated leaves of green and creamy white with soft yellow blooms and grows to 3x3 each year. A small shrub. The very colorful and shorter plants don’t do as well in the same garden🫤
