Passion and dedication are the key to success, but not always. I've seen so many talented musicians here on YouTube who are like hidden treasures, yet their work often goes unnoticed simply because they lack sponsorship and industry connections. It’s sad to see such musicians remain hidden.

Happens to every one of us.

Here’s a truth I’ve learned: **be a maker, not just a thinker.** Overthinking will hold you back. And don’t get too attached to every song you create—they might feel special to you, but at the end of the day, releasing and **keeping the momentum going** is what matters.

Simple rule: If you want to be a YouTuber, post videos. If you want to be a producer/composer, drop songs. If you want to do both, put both out there. Just keep creating and putting things into the world—if you do, success will follow.

Just keep leveling up your craft, quality is a very powerful tool.

Started an LLC for my music. Working 40hrs+ a week. 9 months in, and I haven't made a penny. But I have 370 subscribers on YouTube and a couple hundred people watch my music videos! It's a win for me. (I've been writing and playing music my whole life, not just 9 months) lol

Edit: two weeks since writing this and I finally hit 400 subs!! Thanks!

Your story is very inspiring. I too made a massive career shift when I was 26. I used to be a personal training and taught myself to write code. I have been working as a full-time developer for 10 years now. I recently became inspired to learn something new again and have begun dabbling in music. I have stumbled upon many of your videos and found them to be very encouraging and inspiring. Thank you for sharing.

I randomly came across your video, and you just earned a new subscriber. bravo! Great job! I’m a professional music producer and sound engineer with 21 years in the industry. Your video gave me hope. I’ve always wanted to learn the violin but never did. After watching your video, I’ve decided to dedicate time every day to self-learning. Thanks for the inspiration. keep up the great work!

You are hugely inspirational. You've made me rethink everything.

I've followed you for a while now and love your content, but this video really hits hard and just seems to have lit a fire in my head and made something click. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing! I'm 41 and have been very successful in my career as an attorney but I always wanted to be a musician and producer and slowly working on this solely out of passion.

everytime i watch one of these i learn that it always come back to just selling courses/mentorships to people no matter what category.. and making youtube videos about your courses and getting sponsorships once you get enough followers..

As a beginner, this is very motivating. I always thought I couldn't improve because I started the wrong way by having countless unfinished short loops. I couldn't continue those loops, I just didn't know how to but after watching this video I think I'm gonna force myself to finish a song

Thanks for sharing the ups and downs, and not only the beautiful parts of it. I'm recording my first album, aiming to take a shot and make music my full-time job, as I've been waiting all my life for this. I'm just tired of everything else. Your music is beautiful, and your humility really shines through. It sets you apart from all those plastic dolls out there! Keep it up and best of luck to you!

i hope people don't overlook the fact you started with a major accomplishment under your belt, visual effects is a massive accomplishment in itself- i've been producing since 2012 and am still waiting for a major accomplishment with music (besides a blog post) anyways, thank you for sharing!

What really seems to be consistent with all of the different motivational videos on this topic, is just that: Consistency. Consistently putting stuff out and improving skill and moving more stuff out for exposure. I along with many probably here have one glaring problem: putting anything out in the first place.

PLV I have a question that is difficult to answer and maybe not related to this video.

I have been a mandatory soldier for about a year and I have one more year left.
The problem is that we men don't have much enthusiasm for living when we face these conditions, and this has had a bad effect on my work. I haven't felt alive and making music like before for about a year. It's like your soul is gone. Do you know what I can do? I really miss my old self, when I used to make music with great passion, but now my soul is really destroyed.
