Cavity wall insulation, and damp problems

Here is a video showing some basic issues that don't get noted and rectified prior, or even after cavity wall insulation gets installed. You need to be very careful when purchasing a house if cavity wall insulation has been installed, as it can be very expensive to put right if the cavity wall insulation is damp. Is the guarantee valid? Many times we have seen the installers not warrant the cavity wall insulation guarantee, often leaving people thousands of pounds out of pocket. This job isn't a one off, and I will be documenting many other ones like this over the coming months...

Im not knocking cavity wall insulation as it is needed.... I would just like to inform people of the issues I come across to help them out where they have problems.

If cavity wall insulation batts(panels) are to be installed, there must be a LARGE air space gap in-between the outer walls and the cavity wall insulation batts inside the cavity, this includes a substantial air space gap in-between the cavity wall insulation batts and the cavity wall tie drip point(which must point downwards in the centre of the cavity), (cavity wall ties are laid with a slight downwards slope across the level mortar joints, from the inner to the outer walls). Ask City & Guilds N.V.Q. BRICKWORK teachers in person for proof of this.

That doesn’t mean at any point that Cavity Wall Insulation causes a damp. It’s simple poor survey and probably some cowboy insulation companies trading for only one or two years, doing terrible job. If the survey is been done properly and the installer company it is a proper registered and certified company, there is no any way the property to have a damp issue caused from Cavity Wall Insulation.
