You are such a good teacher. I am binge watching your videos. Good point about the scrim. Back in the days of hessian you needed a lot more plaster to cover them.

Just finished my first Ceiling. 3.6m x 3.6m. Used a speedskim and very pleased with result. A couple of small blemishes but they were filled. Coving tomorrow and then painted.

Nice video. Just have one question, I have always plastered with just one coat with no issues. If it's a nice finish can we get away with one coat or is there a reason why one would apply a 2nd coat. Thanks

Hey buddy, you make this look so easy. I've been practicing in a small en-suite bathroom and my results are hit and miss at the moment, I seem to be having issues with mixing the plaster up. When mixing I add a bucket of water to a bag of plaster and if i've got half a bag left I halve this amount, after watching your mixing plaster video I think I need to add more water. But the issues i'm having is the plaster seems to be more like angel delight than a soft creamy mix like you and Gaz seem to get! When this happens the plaster feels like its already starting to stiffen up. My other issue is controlling the trowel for an even coat, results on a couple of walls and a ceiling have been good, but when the mix isn't right and its the 2nd coat it puts a real downer on what would've been a great result.
