*15-24* “wear helmets, seatbelts, and don’t climb trees”
*75>* “just don’t fall”

it’s quite interesting how the brain never quite returns to the way it was before, it rewires. I had a massive blow to the head about 2 and a half years back after falling about 10-12 feet from a rope swing and my girlfriend can confirm that i’ve never been the same since.

I heard that having a Blue check mark on a twitter profile is a great way to tell if someone suffers from this.

One of my biggest pet peeves are parents who ride bikes with their kids and their kid has knee guards, wrist guards and a helmet and the parent has zero protective gear on.. not even a helmet

When I was a freshman, a boy threw a football at my head fullspeed (on purpose I guess because he never said sorry or anything). I was sensitive to light for like a month afterwards and that's when I started having my moodswings. I'm honestly wondering if I have brain trauma.

About 18 years ago I was standing on the outside wall of our house waiting for my sister to finish washing the garage, but suddenly I find myself in the car with my mother and brother crying and going to the hospital, then I found myself on the hospital bed and the doctor was examining the x-rays in front of me, but the strange thing is, I do not remember how I fell from the wall… At the moment I have a slight forgetfulness in the temporary memory and retrograde amnesia.Sometimes I forget names of some actors I don't know well and sometimes I forget things I want to do. I think this is normal because I excel in my studies.I am a pharmacist and game designer I'm good at English even though I'm Arabic and the permanent memory is good, thank God, but this thing stuck in my mind until now.

This reminds me of a time 8yrs ago when I got into a bike accident. I don't remember the impact just the events prior and the very next day onward.

Several years ago when i still at junior high school, I once have brain damage when i was going to school from home after stepping down stairs and then skip the Last stair but i forgot that mom is mopping the floor in the first floor. When my feet landed on the floor after skipping the last stairs, my feet immediately slipped and I fell with the back of my head landing first. At first Its hurt but its only temporarly for couple minute then i go to school after that as usual and i feel nothing in school and i go back home as usual at the end, but the next Day i had seizure in the morning and when i wake up the back of my head is very painful, I lose some of my memory and its very painful if i forcefully to think and remember what i forgot was, I go to hospital with my family and didnt go to school for 3 month after that accident. (sorry for my bad english, I Just wanted to share some experience)

Christ, I’ve had 5 concussions and none of them were sports related. I can’t believe I have any cognitive function left. This video is a good reminder as to why I should be living in a bubble.

My neurosurgery professor told me, they put a severed skull of a woman in a freezer. She was attacked by a relative with an ax and had a lot of head injuries. Luckily, she survived.

I had to relearn everything. From walking and talking to writing and problem solving and planning. Believe me it's not fun. What was fun was that I was homeless and my traumatic brain injury got me my own place. That was 5 years ago and I still got my place I don't recommend jumping out in front of traffic on a parkway. I was tired of being homeless.

Having lost the love of my life to chronic traumatic encephalopathy, keep in mind that long-term effects of brain trauma may not show until years after the fact.

Thinking about those concussions I got in football 10 years ago. I feel lucky not to have lasting effects.
