Was the Bird/Magic rivalry the fiercest in NBA history?

As long as Larry Legend is somewhere in everyone's top 10, it's gucci

I’m pretty sure the rest of the list is 6 kobe, 5 Duncan, 4 magic, 3 Kareem, 2 Jordan and 1 lebron

Larry Legend is a top 5 player of all time, period. He's the father of basketball.

Rookie of the year was not mentioned since he is one of only 8 Hall of Famers to win Rookie of the year and to be named to the All-NBA first team the same year. Second all time win percentage only behind Magic by about 10 games.

Who was better...Magic and Kareem or Steph and KD? We all know the answer so Bird should be higher on the list. Look at the teams Birds had to go through every year just to reach the Eastern Conference Finals. The West was cake compared to the East during Bird and Magics era.

Bird cooked Jordan in head to head matchups & out of 34 total games (including playoffs), Bird won 23. Basically nearly 75%.

Bird has to be better than Kobe. Bird was the better player for longer. More MVPs. Had more impact on his team winning. Was a leader

Incredible how top heavy the East was in 1980. Only the Celtics, Hawks, and Sixers were over 500.

Larry had BETTER seasons in '87 and '88...50/40/90 Club BOTH seasons

I'll take Legend's 736 win percentage over Lebron's 647 and Kobe' 621, every time!!

Bird is a Top 5, perhaps Top 2 depending on the argument!

Ok, I’m not a Nick Wright fan, but this Bird segment is top tier… Bird was insane. Young dudes don’t know… YouTube it. Check out what the dudes who had to guard him say.. All of them. They openly tell you. Bird destroyed them..

Before all the new fans who think the nba started with lebron yes houston was at one point considered an eastern conference team. Along with the spurs… so nick was actually right about that

Bird at #7 is too low IMO. Bird never had the luxury of playing with Shaq or with Kareem. And Bird played in the much tougher Eastern conference during his career. I have Bird as the better and more complete player than Kobe and Magic and Duncan. To be specific, Bird was a better shooter and passer and rebounder than Kobe, a better shooter and rebounder and defender than Magic and a better shooter and passer than Duncan. Perhaps longevity hurts Bird, but Bird is IMO the most complete player we have seen.

I don’t know that bird wasn’t as good a passer as magic and Isaiah. Less flashy than magic, but as far as quality of passing, he was as good as it gets. He just did more scoring. Not saying he was a better passer, but he was right there with magic, while being a much better scorer/shooter. All things even, I think I take prime bird over anyone.
