It baffles me how the company who made the console that is being emulated, and has full access to its source code, could end up with emulation problems like this that you would expect to see from an unauthorized 3rd party emulator made by hobbyists who reverse engineered it.

I just want to say that the issue with the emulation isn't just about purity, the N64 is decades-old now and there's no reason why the very same company that created the hardware and software can't now emulate it better than anyone else. NIntendo can't even emulate their own hardware and software as good as other, long available, solutions.

So the issue really is about having more than doubled the price of the service while utterly half-assing the execution and delivery of said service.

If I were Nintendo, I'd be embarrassed and ashamed that with basically infinite resources I was unable to beat "the pirates" at their own game while simultaneously doing a disservice to the legacy each game holds.

The one thing I scratch my head at the most is they didn't do a workaround for the memory pak for Mario Kart so you can't save your ghost data

God I've always just hated how dark all the Wii U VC games look.

If Nintendo wants us to pay a premium, they should offer a premium.

I'd rather purchase all these game separately again than to pay THIS MUCH annually to play them...

Honestly, I'd rather just have virtual console and pay to own the games I actually want to play.

The input lag isnt ideal for N64, but they really improved the input lag from the Genesis Collection to the NSO Genesis collection. The Original Eshop Genesis collection was horrendous.

“Isn’t perfect” is putting in VERY mildly.

As much as I love Nintendo’s games, I think it’s SUPER important that we call them out on their bs. It’s only fair that we get the product we were advertised at a fair price. I don’t know why, but as soon as Nintendo rakes in the big bucks, it always seems to get to their head. Is that just me? I miss Iwata....

The fog issue reminds me of the Silent Hill 2+3 HD versions where they absolutely butchered the fog

“Isn’t perfect”? From what I’ve seen, that’s generous. “Needs serious work” would be better.

"Isn't perfect" is quite a mild way of putting it, considering the asking price lol

With all the criticism of the Wii U one has to keep in mind that you could actually buy the games and keep them instead of just borrowing them being forced to stay online.

50 dollars is unacceptable when you put into account they won’t use it to put into their already bad servers. But wait, the emulation sucks too? Nintendo is comical with this one.

For the love of God, Nintendo, just give us the ability to BUY the games! I don't want to rent them.

In what possible way can they justify the price, if the can't even get the emulation working??

This is the 50 dollar subscription service? I expect it to be absolutely perfect for 50 dollars

Bowser glitched into the first track on my first race.
I was like I don't think that happened on the N64.

You didn’t touch on my biggest gripe which is controller mapping. Some of the game have horrible mapping to the joycons, and it’s super hard to get used to some of the games. If nintendo would allow us to map controls within the app, that would be amazing. Each game seems to have their own controller mapping.
