that is basically a summary of the entire online experience on Nintendo devices. people put up with the experience and Nintendo got a pass for it when it was free. they charge for it now and there should be no excuses.

This is how people come to dislike retro games. They play them laggy, no decent filters, poor emulation. Unforgivable for Nintendo. I have been playing retro on the switch lately, and find that I'm sacrificing quality over convenience. In the long run I'm button pressing but no longer getting the joy of a MiSTer or original. Controversial, but I believe casual gamers don't know better, not that they are fine with it. I'm going back to accuracy.

For that price I would have expected Gameboy, Color, and Advance too. This is further proof that Nintendo's care is profit not customers. You can emulate all these titles for free!

N64 emulation in general isn't where it should be at this point. There is not much of an issue with input lag on PC, it's more to do with the state of accuracy for N64 emulation. You can get great results if you have a powerful PC and can use the Angrylion RDP plugin in tandem with the ParaLLEl RSP plugin, but it is still not perfect for many games out of not that large of a game library.

We need a plugin-less saviour emulator in the spirit of Duckstation.

The cherry on top to Nintendo's greed is their atrocious locking in of button mapping and hoping more people buy their N64 controllers. 🤣🤣🤣 Got anything else up your sleeves Nintendo execs?

I'm In a family plan with 4 other friends and family. It was 16 bucks a year for each person. So it was still cheaper then a individual membership.

Online is trash too but it's to be expected since nintendo can't seem to get online play correct at all.

Here is my 2 cents. I own a n64, a everdrive, and a crt. I'm choosing that set up 100x over the switch. I also play in handheld mode so I'm oblivious to these issues. I think titles are fine but needs more. For 25 bucks I can get the Sega genesis collection with far more genesis games. I think it's justified if you can split the costs amongst family and friends which is what I did. 6 people at 16 per year per person at 5. At that price. It's a why not try it. We can always not renew and move back to regular online. So why not at 16 for the year.

Games play fine but I'm in handheld mode most of the time so I don't feel the input lag so much.

I got the expansion pack and I can say I’m pretty underwhelmed by the selection. While I haven’t noticed any serious input delay, I was a little surprised by the frame rate which feels noticeably below 60 FPS. I was also disappointed to see that there were only 3 or 4 games I thought were worth playing.

I assume the genesis emulation is fine, but it’s the same games that have been ported to countless systems over the years, so nothing to write home about.

I value your vids, you speak in a thoughtful, calm and informative way that I appreciate. The expansion isn't interesting enough for me, I still have an N64 and all my old carts, and as you said, there are better emulation options out there, all of them free
