How does everyone deal with the lack of controller profile configuration options in these emulators?

I like project 64, it just sucks I get this bug on super mario 64 (and maybe others I'm not sure) where it tells me it's loading combiner shaders but it never goes up and just stays at 0.0

Just got a handheld console and use PJ64. Mario Kart and Mario 64 works fine, but other games are unplayable. You’ll you know how to fix that issue?

Just want to recommend Ship of Harkinian for ocarina of time. It's not technically an emulator, but the best way to play that game.

I understand you are probably ranking these off of game compatibility and ease-of-use. But you did not mention emulation accuracy once. Project 64 has been by far the worst N64 emulator for years. I really don't understand why people keep recommending this. Simple64 should probably be at the top of the list for accuracy and ease-of-use + great netplay. And also RMG and Ares deserve to be somewhere on 2nd and 3rd place. (can't decide which order). For their ease of use and accuracy. Oh and P64 should probably be at the bottom lmao. Too many plugins to set up for someone new to understand just to play one specific game without game breaking issues.

Retroarch is basically a giant hub for emulators I think.

with project n64 i cant use xbox one/ps4 controllers on it tho

The Zelda OoT on Pj64 it lags takes 3sec to open inventory

Project 64 doesn't run Cruisin Exotica without crashing. Doesn't recognize virtual xbox controller. Fail.

Simple64 is super accurate, visually. ❤️ It's open source.

Project 64 has at least one severe security vulnerability which should disqualify it completely from consideration except on a system which has no personal information on it and which isn't connected to the internet or any network, but probably you should just use a different emulator anyway even in that case.

Project 64 has one heck of an annoying glitch where you can't press two buttons at the same time.
