Making violin strings is not actually the most gruelling process. Little gross, but not impossible. Strings are still made in the traditional way today. I played on gut for many years, until I got sick of the pitch dropping in humid weather.

I did a bit of "sewer searching" actually a storm drain. I can't see 50 a day, but there is money down there, also needles, crayfish, razor blades, snakes, spiders, and sharp rusty nails. It pays well but be careful! Also it tears up fingernails! 🥴 ❤☃️
