5 Quick FACTS about EMPEROR PALPATINE/DARTH SIDIOUS-Darth Sidious, born Sheev Palpatine and also known simply as the Emperor or Emperor Palpatine, was a human male Dark Lord of the Sith and Emperor of the Galactic Empire, ruling from 19 BBY to 4 ABY. Rising to power in the Republic Senate as the senator of Naboo, Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine was a secretive Sith Lord who cultivated two identities, Sidious and Palpatine, using both to further his political career. He orchestrated the fall of the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order through the Clone Wars, and then established his reign over the galaxy which lasted until his death at the Battle of Endor. However, the dark side of the Force gave rise to powers which allowed the Emperor to return from the grave. Born on the Mid Rim planet Naboo around 84 BBY during the Republic Era with the noble Palpatine family belonged to the affluent class in Naboo society, Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine possessed a strong connection to the Force, and was secretly trained in the ways of the Sith by Darth Plagueis. He eventually killed his Sith Master in order to train his own Sith apprentice, Darth Maul, for the Rule of Two limited their ranks to two Sith Lords at any given time. As a result of the Invasion of Naboo, a crisis orchestrated by Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine, the Senate elected Palpatine as Supreme Chancellor. The Separatist Crisis and the Clone Wars were masterminded by Sidious and his new apprentice, Darth Tyranus, in an effort to achieve galactic dominance. Following an attempt to arrest the chancellor, the Great Jedi Purge commenced with Sidious enacting Order 66. Palpatine was raised in the cultured city of Theed, his homeworld's capital; he formed connections with a reputable host of credible politicians produced over the centuries, all the while acquiring a great amount of knowledge on governance and the subtleties of power during his youth. The details about how Sidious came to study under the Sith were known by very few, with it not even being known of when he did. But he became the Sith apprentice to Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Plagueis and took on the name Darth Sidious. As a Sith Lord, Sidious learned all his Sith Master knew about the dark side of the Force, following the tradition first set by the ancient Darth Bane. While apprenticed to Plagueis, Sidious constructed his own Sith lightsabers.
While training with Plagueis, Sidious was taught that two Sith were required for their perilous machinations. So, if they worked together in accordance to Darth Bane's Rule of Two, with one of them serving as bait for the dark side of the Force and the other as a vessel, they would succeed in acquiring the ability to harness the full power of the dark side and rule immortal for ten thousand years. The Rule of Two doctrine planted the seeds to allow the Sith to amass power in the shadows and to garner the strength necessary to get their revenge against the Jedi Order. The Sith Rule of Two was instrumental in the Sith's ability to slowly work at toppling the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic. During the Prequels and Original Trilogy, the Sith Rule of Two was on full Display. Although Darth Sidious strayed from this doctrine at times, the Sith Lord had Darth Maul as his apprentice, followed by Darth Tyrannus aka Count Dooku, and then finally Darth Vader. The Sith Rule of Two allowed for Darth Sidious to become the pinnacle of Sith power that could supplant the Jedi Order and Galactic Republic as the predominant institutions of power in the Star Wars galaxy. The Rule of Two ensured the relationship between a Sith Master and their apprentice was not one of trust; indeed, both the master and the apprentice constantly searched for any sign of weakness in the other, for a weak master deserved to be overthrown by their pupil, just as a weak pupil deserved to be replaced by a worthier, more powerful recruit. Additionally, while Darth Sidious has this vision in the Force, he begins to think about his apprentice, Darth Vader, and Vader's motivations and desires during the events of Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. As depicted in Empire Strikes Back, Darth Vader was well aware of that he had a son-Luke Skywalker. While Darth Sidious was nearly killed by Darth Vader in 4 ABY, through his master, Darth Plagueis', teachings, however, Darth Sidious transferred his essence to an imperfect clone vessel that had been modeled on his original body, allowing Sidious to escape death.

Palpatine force choking Dooku was only touching the surface. In the novels, its shown that Palpatine quite literally reshaped the constellations.

He did not use his light saber because he felt it was undignified. He did use it on rare occasions. But he preferred to use the power of the Darkside 99% of the time

So you're telling me This Man was able to see the future, but failed in making a planet-sized weapons platform NOT have the most obtusely weak weak point of any megastucture ever?

He also made his weapons out of a lightsaber resistant material.

Originally, Sidious' refrain from using lightsabers was due to the belief that the Sith had evolved from having to rely on lightsabers like the Jedi, and that only continued to use them so as to humiliate and spite the Jedi.

Actually about Jar-Kai: I think it was ultimately decided, this wasn't its own form but rather a subset of Niman and a variant of all others.

I just know the ancient culture of people who originally worshipped Niman as a goddess used a two-sword melee combat style they dubbed Jar-Kai.

As a saber fighting style Niman also appeared to not only be a blend of the five styles before it, but another subset of it was specializing in force-wielding combat with the empty hand while using the lightsaber in the main hand. So Niman had the blending of technique, the force+saber combat, the subset double-blade emphasis, and the subset Jar-Kai dual wield emphasis. To master Niman took a decade of practice.

Apparently sometime after Ataru had been originally developed, it was eventually a requirement to be able to effectively utilize Jar-Kai with Ataru in order to accomplish full mastery.
This supposedly mirrors Chinese saber fencing where in order to be truly a master of the style you have to be able to use all variations of it. Single, dual, and single with long handle. I went a bit more towards eskrima + western fencing. But the da-dao shaolin bladework has some pretty good utility.

Wait so was it a retcon or new lore I saw at Disneyland 6 years ago that said.
Also in spite of how fluent Yoda was with multiple styles of lightsaber combat that Palpatine learned all of the other styles too.

Darth Vader was able to force choke someone through a holigram too

He could of easily killed Maul and Savage before the lightsaber duel even started. He had them both pushed up against the wall in his force grip. If he wanted to he could of snapped their necks, but instead he chose to have some fun and make them think they have a chance against him in lightsaber combat.

I don’t remember where I heard this but supposedly Palpatine didn’t even like using a lightsaber, preferring to use the power of the dark side dominantly
