people complaining about the price, my local mcdonalds in middle-of-nowhere america sells a quarter pounder meal for upwards of 10 dollars. i would HAPPILY pay 8.50 for a sandwich of such authenticity, and quality, especially while on a vacation.

I live in Florence, it used to cost only 5€, 8€-9€ is outrageous 😑😑. I suggest going to “schiacciata matta” or go to “Pino’s sandwiches” there are less people lining up, better schiacciate and you pay 6€ for the same amount (before the pandemic it used to be 5€)

My friends brought us here when I visited Italy. Not only are these sandwiches massive but they are fucking good. And not expensive at all. It's seriously the best sandwich I ever had.

There's a great small gelateria in Florence, highly recommend you get the RICOTTA GELATO

€8 for a GIANT sandwich that is famous enough to have long lines and fresh ingredients is definitely not “too expensive”. It’s famous for a reason. People wouldn’t bat an eyelash if you ate a whole pizza worth the same amount, this sandwich has similar ingredients and looks just as filling as a whole pizza, so what’s the problem? People are finding any reason to criticise you..

“Only 8 euros” it was 5 euros 2 years ago.
And 6 euro 1 month ago. 😭
Now it became a tourist “price”

Anyway still the best schiacciata!

What a great bonding experience for you and your mom. Enjoying seeing your adventures and honesty in 20’s angst. Just want to tell you don’t worry their will always be new things to discover and new challenges to conquer. Also “old” things from your youth you will see completely differently decades later. I find myself appreciating and loving things from my 20’s in different new ways in my 40’s. New (old lady) dooby fan!

I have been there last year! I ordered a schiacciata with raw slices of beef, pistachio cream (not the sweet one of course) and stracciatella, which is a soft kind of mozzarella.

I loved it so much.

La Fettunta is right next to this place and it's just as good. Antico Vinaio is great but I don't think the waiting line is worth it, it can be up to 2 hours!!!! Don't wait that long and try the Fettunta, specially the MADAME (grilled veggies, brie cheese, sauce *chef kiss*).

Sandwiches, pizza and pasta in Italy...cheese, olives, olive oil, meat, tomatoes, everything is chef's kiss! Everything is grown and made for flavour. Much is made using old recipes.

I go to Italy twice a year and fill a giant wheelie case with olive oil, olives, cheeses, meat, pasta, anchovies, and sun-dried tomatoes . I also grow tomatoes in grow bags on my balcony and herbs on my window sills!
