It is a great camera but the introduction price was clearly too high. D90 was half the price of D300, so D7500 should have been half the price of D500. Which is around €1000. Now, after 2 years, it has dropped to that level and it is a good buy if you want an action orientated general purpose aps-c dslr with great dynamic range.

Why does everyone keep saying that the D7500 is the first to let you use touch in menus? The D5500 has always done that!! The D5500 will ALSO let you use the touch screen as a touchpad to move a single focus point around in the viewfinder, making up for the lack of a dedicated AF joystick as on the D500. The D7500 as far as I know does NOT do this, forcing you to keep tapping the 4-way selector one way or the other, like a cheap, low-end camera (or a Sony A7). Touch functionality is actually DOWN compared to the D5500.

Currently own a Lumix g7 which takes stunning 4k videos but the image quality is just alright. Would I be downgrading by purchasing the camera? I need something with better quality photos but that won't sacrifice video. Thank you!
