It is my personal headcanon that attack speed mods reduce the weapon's weight. It would make sense how Tenno can swing around say...The Fragor Prime. The Gram prime shown here is one of the slowest melee weapons in the game, so reducing its weight would be important. Otherwise you couldn't even pick the damn thing up as a Tenno, much less a regular human.

Just like Cloud with the Buster sword, Warframes monumentally strong and dextrous. Even things like wildly out of place centers of mass can be made useable with enough grip and wrist strength. These are not weapons made with human limitations in mind.

Reaper prime has two blades, for laceration. Also, if you have problems with the weight, watch some of the cutscenes. Especially the late game ones.
