I had a job at united technologies one time running monel for a oxygen line in an explosive environment. We tested 5 welders before we found one that could make the welds. Very high nickle content makes welding this alloy difficult. You are very good and would have been a great asset in our local.

Very skilled welder, he definitely made this look far easier than it really is. Great work!

This is the toughest thing I've ever welded, its one of the only metals that Ive seen survive in saltwater. Super expensive though, 20 foot length of 80 Sch 6 inch ran my job 20K...Weld on brother

I was a welder for 50 years, no problem just weld it. Git er done. Remember it isn’t a horse race.

Why did the camera cut away from the initial tack weld? Then cuts past the initiation of the second tack?

Nice job! I'm tired just by watching so many passes being laid down. That's a lot of work.

i have welded monel and have passed quals. Big thing is the toes of the welds and the stops get the copper silicates. Files them or lightly grind them.

Sheeeesh!!! Nice work David! I’m going to have to throw down on that monel 400, looks like a good time! 🔥

Do not snip off your filler metal number. That is your traceability when the inspector shows up. All in all awesome video my only critique. Messing round in the shop one thing but maintain traceability.

I see what you mean about the droppy look and the green hue that would suck but weld looks good 💯💪🙏

Great Video...and informative....
When it comes to welding rod, I like to leave the stamped alloy name on and just bend the rod to 90 degrees at the name,
that way I know what alloy the rod is and it gives me a way of picking the rod off a flat surface while wearing gloves
by rolling the rod until the little tail is upright and grabable.
It also lets me know what end of the rod is hot if I lay it

It looks like you do not need a post flow on the bead, unlike Stainless, is that correct? Thanks
.Cheers form Florida, Paul

The way his welding it it’s pretty easy, when your in the plant with all kinds of pipes around you that’s where it’s a little difficult.
