It’s an incredible cover. Paul Simon was so impressed he said this is Disturbed’s song now. The cinematography in the original video is mind blowing. The original was a warning and this version is a reaction to us not heeding the warning. David Draiman is a trained cantor. It’s a mind blowing rendition. Love your USS Enterprise license plate.

They are called Tympani drums or kettle drums - I play the drums - and in junior high school I played the tympani drums in the school band for a school band song called "Exaltation" and it was a lot of fun! and yes - this was phenomenal and emotional - I saw Disturbed with Rob Zombie in Hershey Park Pennsylvania one time and i got up to 10th row from the stage!! -- and they are one of my favorite rock bands! Also I'm 'pretty sure David the singer is friends with Geddy Lee of RUSH in a private personal way between them. "Remember" is also a great Disturbed song to react to if you have never heard that song - "Remember" by Disturbed is an awesome song! for a reaction video!

Long story short the Disturbed version of this song was what got me back into listening to pop/rock after I had quit over 50 years ago when the deaths of Joplin and Hendrix so close together utterly gutted me. A friend asked me to listen to it and because of that I did. Listening wakened my interest in music again and lead me on a journey that still continues, discovering the music that I had missed, and the wonderful artists that exist in the world today. And that, in itself, was a blessing during the Covid lockdown. I eventually found a home with Nightwish, but I have discovered and continue to discover so many really great artists that I would never have known of if not for this song.

For a classically trained singer to be a metal band front liner, he is just amazing. I think this is a great version. One of the rare times where I felt a cover exceeded the power and originality of the original composition. Paul Simon was so moved by this interpretation of his song that he featured it on his website when it was released. This is a masterclass of vocal ability and execution. Stunning.
