12 years ago I got sent to California State Prison for drug possession . When the bus pulled up to Delano State Prison and we were waiting at the electric fences to get cleared to come inside. I remember singing in my head this song especially the part when he said, “What the hell am I doing here. I don’t belong here.” The bus driver at the moment turned up the music on the radio and this song was playing. I knew right there and then that this was going to be my last time ever in prison. what's interesting about 'creep' is that in the earlier performances thom uses all his strength to hold the high note at the climax of the song, you can see him struggling with this a bit, but every other time he did the scream more and more effortlessly. mind-blowing voice

It's so amazing to see Radiohead in such an early stage of their career. At this point, they still appear moldable and look slightly vulnerable, maybe unsure in some ways. I love this performance so much. This is a gem. It's crazy that it's the first performance on Conan's show too.. Stars aligned. Literally and figuratively.

Damn, his sheepish body language and awkwardness at the end when Conan comes back shows this song really came from the heart. I’m sure it was therapeutic to sing such a vulnerable song back when they first came out with it.
