How he didn't win is mystifying. He has the most incredible voice of any contestant I've ever seen on all seasons of this show. People have since tried to copy his version but can't hold a candle to this breath taking performance. The sheer vocal control, power dynamics, sound textures, and how he strategically switches from chest voice to falsetto for maximum impact is brilliant. He sings with his entire soul and brings the listener into his painful world of mesmerizing desperation and anguish. A truly powerful performance.
