this whole thing was disturbing. the coach needs to be looked into more… this is more than just a ‘sore loser’

Imagine having a stress breakdown, being hugely disappointed, hungry as hell (Eteri didn’t let them eat or drink on competition days), and just in all being overwhelmed as hell not to mention scared of your coach and some random lady tries speaking to you in a different language, Alexandra did very well with that because I probably would've punched that lady 😂

So much wanted from her. But another skater given more support. .support should equal. To all team members....!!! Not focused on wishes to Sasha.

The cameraman shouldn't have recorded that moment, it wasn't part of his job and as for Sasha it's obvious that she was going to have a Mental Breakdown, after all breaking a record and making history was so that she could win, and if you read it says that everyone has gold except her, which is true because despite being an excellent skater she always wins second place.

This poor girl. The cameraman should not have filmed her breakdown...

They should have let her do her free in the Teams. She would have gotten gold, and so would the rest of the Russian team after Camilla's qualification. Honestly, I never understood why they chose Camilla for both short and free program. They were far ahead. They didnt need Valieva for this. They could have maximized winners and pleased more girls... This could have been avoided

the fact she lowered her tone when the staff was speaking to her and was trying to hide herself from the camera. Mannn I feel so bad! she was just a teenager poor thing :(

Quad Queen 💯✊

I know it hurts and this girl has gone through a lot just to get there, but learning to accept u lost is part of being the best, disrespecting the one who won the gold medal makes it lose its whole purpose and virtue. Anything that pushes u down makes us way stronger than we were before, I'm sure she is gonna win the next one!

Sorry I had switched the comments off. I love Sasha and I just wanted to say how much I feel for her. My respect to Anna, but Sasha is an Olympic champ in my heart. I honestly can’t believe she’s thinking about retirement so young and I feel like all these seasons watching her fly by so quickly. I hope and pray to see her again in 2026.
P.S, there’s also the second part translated.

For the people whod id not follow this closely - the Russian team had the same head coach to all skaters, i.e., the same woman who asked Valieva why she stopped trying while the latter was crying immediately after her FP blunder.

Anyway, in the team's competition, they did not swap Valieva for Trusova, so Valieva initially got a gold medal. If they had 2 different skaters in the FP and SP, both of them would have won gold medals. In the end. only Anna got one, because Russia got DQ cuz of Valieva's drug test.

Hope this helps!

I'm just sorry for her. Anna deserved that gold, and I would award all 3 russian girls gold if I could :') Because they were ALL so so good! The strongest team in a long while.
I know it hurts to play second fiddle for so long, esp when you work so hard. She created history with 5 quads, but unfortunately lacked somewhere else. Her mentor did not provide her with the creative training to channel her passion and determination onto the ice. She encouraged her fixation on quads because she was the best at it.

This is our problem as society. We don't teach kids how to accept failures. We make them fear it, pressure them to think that their life is over if they don't win. But Silver at freaking Olympics is GOOD! Cheer up, Trusova. You did your best :)

Plus, if they hate it, they're not going to do as well. These things should be fun. Grinkov and Gordevia loved skating & each other. They won many awards including becoming double gold medalists.

I would never compete in a sport where "judges" are the deciding factor either

It's an awful lot of pressure to put on someone so young. It doesn't seem right.
