Lubuntu could save some opening Ram by using the LXDE taskbar instead of the LXQT taskbar or just going with a Tint2 taskbar. But since they've switched from LXDE, yea, their memory is almost identical to XFCE. Lubuntu 22.04 does look good, especially it's splash screen.

Purging software I don't need lowers ram usage somewhat and I'm talking v20.04 here (only 360MB is in use on my PC with 4GB of ram sporting an aging Celeron 1037), and the same is true for 22.04: removing Libreoffice, Skanlite, Quassel, 2048-QT, K3b, drivers for Printers (I don't have one) and a view others saves ram. It would be great if the people behind Lubuntu try to create a middleground between LXQT and LXDE: which could lower ram by, what, 32-48MB perhaps? ;-)
*Edit:* as far as I know the difference in ram usage between LXDE and LXQT is only 100MB.

Honestly lubuntu lost it's appeal now since, it looks like the resource usage is identical to xubuntu 22.04 but xubuntu has much more features. so xubuntu now ftw.

GNOME and KDE both seem to use around 500-600 MB too...

Hey @teklek411 I watch pretty much every video of yours about distro comparison but I want to know what distro you uses as a daily driver?
It would be nice of you to reply...

Since Lubuntu switched to LXQT from LXDE, it lost lightness on memory and CPU usage, became just another mid-resource distro flavor of Ubuntu.

I use win 10 . it takes 2gb/7gb of ram but it's so smooth with animations. i love that. it's much much better than any bloated linux distor
