One off diy job, didn't want a tub of plumbers mait. Plumbers merchant offered me this big conical rubber bung type thing that fits over the waste thread and wedges itself up into the basin. Cheap and no mess! They called it plumbers friend.

I'm not a plumber but lately have become obsessed with your vids after second fitting my en-suite. Did the sink, toilet, waste, cistern and shower. All done and your vids were a great help. I have one question though; when I fitted the mono tap, the water that splashed around it seeped down into the vanity unit. Is that normal given that it was both with its rubber seal and tight enough to not jump around. I solved it with a plumbers mait sausage but was wondering if that was the correct solution under a tap? I also "sausaged" the underside of the basin waste and not a drop from either since!

Planning to o install a rain shower … of course a low budget one😜from amazon ..
I have found one shower head and the mixing valve as well…
Can I simply connect the valve to hot & cold lines and to the shower head????
My doubt is that by doing that … will the hot and cold main lines get mixed up with each other as valve is just like a tee valve???
