So, you have a new job. Congratulations. Now, you want to make a great first impression. So, let's get you into the right mindset, so you look awesome.

Now, you should already have got an idea of what people are wearing from when you went on job interviews at this company. Okay?

1. Know how to dress - do not overdress
2. Ask Questions before you show up on your first day
3. Be Polite and get out and introduce yourself to your co-worker (do it enthusiastically)
4. Ask for help (but think through it before and try to solve on your own)
5. Learn what everyone else does (i.e. Job role, Project they are working on, etc)
6. Don't stress - give yourself time to learn things
7. Ask more questions in meeting (be curious)
8. Don't afraid to ask for a feedback
9. Perform best of your ability (no slacking, get things done ahead of schedule)
10. Don't suck up and don't be overly nice (maintain balance)
11. Show up 10-15 minutes early to scheduled start and don't leave on time. (can be interpreted as you are a time watcher)
12. Don't be a Diva (don't be a demanding person rather give time and space to do there job)
13. Don't be a person who knows it all. Rather be open minded and learn why/how the process is.
14. Don't misuse company resources (internet for social media, watching videos, using company phones for personal calls, etc)

Thanks for actually directly saying “contain yourself, let people warm up to you”. I needed to hear that 😂

#1 and the most important characteristic Is whether you fit in with the culture. Everything else can be worked around

I just left a job of 17yrs to work for another company. I've seen plenty of new hires come and go, now it's my time. Trying to go about this the right way. I'm an introvert so I'm trying to break that until I get to know them. Wish me luck!!

When I was younger I had a negative overall experience with interviews. They never hired me at 18 I got a crappy job. Eventually when I got 20 got a better job than the one before was making still only 7.75 an hr but things got better. I am now almost 28 and they're begging me to work for them. All you young folks things get better when you get experience and take assessments.
