I guess you can find old ones useful if you're going to write some lofi/neosoul/blues, close to the heart music. They sound not as bright and loud, and more softly attacked

I don’t care how old and dull strings are they rock good. I wait for mine to break during Guitar battles. New string sucks.

I think new strings don't sound great either, better but not just right. They really sound great right after they're broken in a bit, but then they go flat after that depending how hard you play, and then they just kind of sound the same for a really long time until you can noticeably tell they need to be charged because they just sound weak and stretched.

I'd rather change my bronze strings out than subject my Gibson SJ200 to Elixir's. Worst strings ever made IMO
