It pays tribute to Gibson's Golden Era of innovation and brings authenticity back to life. The Les Paul Standard 60's has a solid mahogany body with an AA figured maple top, and a slim taper 60's-style mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and trapezoid inlays. It's equipped with a classic-style Tune-O-Matic bridge, aluminum stop bar tailpiece, Grover Rotomatic "Kidney" tuners, and gold top hat knobs with silver reflectors. The Burstbucker 61R (neck) Burstbucker 61T (bridge) pickups are loaded with AlNiCo V magnets, audio taper potentiometers and orange drop capacitors.

I bought the "unburst"and will get it tomorrow. Last October I bought a Les Paul special and I agree with you Gibson is building great guitars. I also use Schaller strap locks.

I’ve owned a Gibson ‘83 LP Custom, ‘92 LP Std, ‘13 LP Sig “T”, and now just bought a ‘22 LP Std 60s “Iced Tea”…it’s fabulous! So well made and the 61 pups are sweet too.
Mine weighs about 9lbs 13oz. I love the authentic weight of a Les Paul but man is it heavy

I got one in tv yellow and it is awesome! you come to expect a certain feel and playability from a les Paul, I chose it for the unique color but when I began to play it I was floored by how great the neck felt and played. It is a true les Paul that does its heritage proud. yes it's expensive but in 10 years people won't believe that's all you paid for it :)

Just bought a 2019 traditional pro v today, flame cherry sunburst. It's beautiful, barely played. I let someone else take the beating on it. To me, the Les Paul is the grand piano of the guitar world.

Your Review/ advice helped me pull the trigger on a 60's Gibby Thank you Play And Trade: i found one a Cherry Triburst 8lbs 15 oz and a booming AA top the BB 61's are super dope and the orange drops make a big difference i had to put down my epi Lazarus Greeny (greenybuckers), and my 2024 Epi LP Custom alpine, for a while my triburst sounds Wicked savage thru a Marshall JCM 800 .Thanks Don from Playa Del Rey Ca.

Great review, that is a nice guitar, I prefer the solid body construction and the 60’s tapered necks over the 50’s baseball bat necks. You guys in the US are lucky with guitar pricing at $2, 990.00 we would pay way more than that in Australia….$3, 5 to $4000.00 or more.

I bought a Teaburst 60s Standard a few years ago when they were $500. dollars cheaper, and they are STILL the best Les Paul Standard you can buy! Hands down.

I came to the same exact conclusions as you.. Those Burstbuckers pickups handle gain really well while keeping their definition.. My only beef is that I would have appreciated real mother of pearl inlays rather then Vinyl and higher frets.. But it's just me..

They’re always talking about a good resonance of the Body: That’s a misunderstanding of physical laws. A resonant body eliminates energy of the strings: Always!! The sound is always a result of frequencies that are not eliminated by the body.

Do you think is it better to buy a '60s or a '50s Standard Les Paul when already owning a '50s with P-90 and a SG Standard '61 ? Playing styles are mainly a lot of blues, some classic rock, some pop, some jazz... but no hard rock or heavier playing styles. I like the '61 burstbucker in my SG and really like the fat neck of my '50s P90 Les Paul ... but my fear is that the '50s Standard with burstbucker 1 & 2 will sound too close to my P-90. Thanks for the help.
