I bought my LP Standard 60s in 2021. I just put a Bare Knuckle Mule p/u in Neck and a BK Riff/Raff in the Bridge w/ BK 550k pots w/ paper in oil caps. I also upgraded the tuners to locking Grovers, the switch to a Switchcraft hand wired switch and a pure tone output jack. I run Elixir 9-42 strings. That guitar ROARS!

Pretty lemon meringue! There is no such thing as 'excessive boxing' if you order something you love and it arrives well protected, especially in these days of careless couriers.

Just bought my 60’s Standard in Bourbon Burst. Received it a week ago today. It’s awesome. I own a 2017 Traditional as well and I prefer it over my Trad. Even after swapping the Trad to 57’s I prefer the 61’s.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. You can always tell when Austin is inspired by the guitar he's playing. He definitely goes outside his comfort zone when he's plucking on the strings.

I just bought a 2021 Les Paul 50s Standard. It had very little use and I got a substantial discount from new. I took it apart like Austin did and took lots of photos. Overall the quality is very good. This is my first Les Paul Standard and I'm very impressed. Sounds and feels great, plus its only 9.0 lbs.

Bought one in November 2021 and I absolutely love it. I think people make too big of a deal about the QC. It’s a mostly handmade guitar after all, there’s going to be some scuffs etc. Plus most dealers allow for free return within 30-45days if you do find a bigger issue upon playing. If you’re on the fence, go for it!

I recently went through THREE of the 60's standards before I got a perfect one. I fianlly ended up buying one with a 10.1 AAA graded top from Eddie's and it's PERFECT. Always buy from a dealer who inspects and takes great pics ahead of time! And my is that one you got FLAMEY!

I got the Sweetwater AAA demo model cherry sunburst 2 weeks ago and not a nick on it and a perfect set up. Love it. Saved me $300.

I bought a cherryburst 50s standard a couple months ago that was made in very late 2021. I already had 3 other gibson lp standards made from 2019 thru January 2020. Long story short, unfortunately I definitely noticed a quality control difference from my others one. And I have a confession, I just got rid of it. But good news is I’ll just get an R9 at the right time in the future, and now I get to play my other standards more now; so it’s a win-win in the end.

I got one: Played 3 50s necks and my hand didn’t like them, played 3 60s slim neck and just by chance the 3rd one was the one by luck it also had a Fantastic Tea Burst finish and played absolutely perfect up and down the neck after a bit of tweaking.. very pleased with mine 👍🏻🌞❤️⭐️. GIBSON DID UP THERE GAME ON THE ONE I GOT, AND THEY NEEDED TO Cos some of the Standards in the 90s we’re DOGS.. But they have listened to what we expect Thank goodness let’s hope they don’t forget about that 👍🏻🌞⭐️❤️

Pickguard on or off?
I’ve seen others say the same thing
If you can see the woodgrain-pickguard off (to better see the woodgrain)
Solid colour- pickguard on( so the finish doesn’t wear off)
But exceptions would be possible

I find that since Gibson started using the plek machine many of the nuts are cut too high. Some stores might tell you it's set to Gibson specs and won't do the work to cut the groves or shave the nut down. If the action on your Les Paul is bad check the string height at the first fret you may need to have the nut shaved down

Beautiful guitar! A work of art. Remember mine? I ordered a 60s reissue, and got the slim neck, but the shell and hardware were 50s. It was still bourbon burst. Exactly what I wanted!

When people send you so many guitars you must clarify "its not a gift".
Life is good indeed.
Excellent for Sweetwater sponsoring some of your episodes.
I've purchased so much from Sweetwater over the last year I feel a little bit connected to this episode! ;-)

I just unboxed my Heritage Cherry Studio today and Wow! the top is stunning, lots o flame! and the fit and finish is on point not a flaw on it, all it needs is a couple of adjustments to suit my preference and she is good to go!

Despite having the same wood and flame, the flames doesn't pop as much on a Gibson as compared to a PRS or a Carvin/Kiesel. Those companies tend to darken the flame first with a darker dye before applying the main color. Therefore their flames are more pronounced compared to a Gibson.

That Lemon Burst 🍋 would look very groovy on an SG! Great vid, as always! 😎✌🏻🎶🎶☘️

I just got the 50's version of the AAA top from Sweetwater. It has 57 Classic pickups, which I prefer, for a Jazz guitar.
The AAA top is gorgeous .Mine is cherry sunburst.

I just bought my first Les Paul a couple weeks ago. 60s standard in “Rum Burst”. Got it off a guy who got it off of the demo shop. Looks the same as Bourbon Burst to me though, which is great anyways
