Charles C. Edwards, II, M.D., is Medical Director of The Maryland Spine Center at Mercy Medical Center. Patients from the Baltimore region and from across the nation seek Dr. Edwards’ expertise in diagnosing and treating spine conditions, including scoliosis, osteoarthritis, spinal deformity and complex degenerative spine conditions. Dr. Edwards appeared on the "90 Spinal Surgeon Device Inventors & Innovators to Know" list by Becker's Spine Review. He has been invited to numerous national medical association conferences to present his scientific research studies. His research awards include the Best Clinical Paper at the European Cervical Spine Research Society Meeting.

Dr. Edwards has been named a "Top Doctor" by Baltimore magazine multiple times and was featured on the cover of the November 2014 issue.
Dr. Edwards was editor of the scoliosis and spondylolisthesis sections of the Textbook of Spinal Surgery, 3rd edition. He also is author of more than 60 research papers and textbook chapters dedicated to spine disorders.

Saved my life, C6-7 disc pain so bad there was no quality of life left . Torrential rain the day of the surgery, white knuckle drive to Baltimore, everyone involved was late justifiably. My thought was, I dont want anyone working on me that had to just go through that . Dr Edwards walked in totally calm and professional, you would never know he had just gone through that also. I owe my life to his hands.
