Sales Tips and Marketing Training - What are you REALLY selling? Define why your customer will value this product? The product you're selling and what you're really selling may not be quite the same thing. If you're selling insurance for example, you're not just selling a policy, you're selling security and peace of mind. Apply this principle to any product, service or business. Ask yourself, why will my customer value this product. What is it about it that will be appealing to them. Then, instead of focusing on the facts of the product, focus on the reasons why they will value it.
