I am so glad this miricale appeared on my recommended page as i work with bulls every day on my farm and i bought this and only 2 days after i was rounding them up to put then in a new paddock when one bull decided to try and kill me, he knocked me to the ground buy i had enough time to take this out and whip him across they head and it stopped him giving me enough time to get the hell out of the field and to call for an ambulance

I had a monkey fist it lasted about 2 hours. I hit a few things with it and it bounced back and hit my in the arm. I hit my leg with it and it did very little I was still able to walk. Then the paracord worked loose around the ball. Before the ball could come out I took it out. The ball weighed 3 oz or about 85 grams. how much does the ball end weight on yours?

Ooo, it looks very well made! As a weapon, it seems to be one step above the rolled up newspaper! I think it is good for the bartender who may occasionally have to defend himself from rowdy patrons.

From Lord Ashleigh's Book of Knots. The "Monkey's Fist" is a 3 lead, 3 bight "Turk's Head" (So named for it's resemblance to a turban) often used to wrap a leader line for throwing over to a dock, then pull in a heavier Mooring Line. That sort of thing, but of course the same knot, or a similar one can be used to load down a net, the ends of a Bola, or as a flexible flail.
