I like the advices you gave about punching and using the cordage to chock the enemy. A lot times people forget they can also punch and kick even if there is a weapon on their hands.

I made mine with billiard ball, very lethal. The size is (actually I didn't measure it in units) but I made it half the legth of my forearm so it won't bounce back to my face.

Don't discount the possibility of your attacker getting lucky and grabbing a hold of the cord. The ball will prevent it from slipping from their grasp and then, they have a securely attached handle on you. Broken finger or skin ripped off the bone is a potential outcome. I am certainly not suggesting to avoid this tool because of the potential just be aware in the hope of avoiding an unfavorable outcome.

Okay, but once you release the ball its now out of your hand. How are you going to punch with the ball already loose in your punching hand? You've got this loose weight attached to your hand that you're trying to bring back in if you want to punch again.
