I love the mining helmet. After an incident I had involving 1 of my provisioner, 2 deathclaws, and about 15 exploding teddy bears, I started putting mining helmets on all my provisioner so I could more easily identify them out in the waste

#1 also you have to remember Nick Valentine has the memory of the real world pre-war Nick Valentine, which probably includes religious beliefs. Hence why he starts praying. Plus Boston is a very very religious city.

For Nick Valentine, I don't see why he couldn't be religious, he has pre war memory and he is literally a sentient human being in an artificial body, it doesn't really impact the possibility of believing in God or not.

I just change the pipboy color to white, this also changes the flash light color. Though I guess if you prefer the green or any other color for your screen this comes in handy.

Just FYI, you could travel with dogmeat and another companion togerther in Fallout 3.

A combat armor helmet would have been great with a light source

No, the Everyone's Best Friend allows you to take a humanoid companion as a third wheel. Dogmeat is the ride or die boy. Companions who aren't Dogmeat are just a trial that has to be endured to earn a new perk, at which point they can farm tatos while the true companion takes his place.

The mining helmet was in my inventory the first 3 times I did play the game.
But this time I just changed the color of my pip-boy with a bright (de-saturated) light blue and it's light now does more than any flashlight.

It is also possible to change the color of the light emitted by the mining helmet at the armor workbench.

Oh SNAPP you omitted very important fact. When you pray in Dimond City church your character gets XP boost

if you open a door/crate/whatever with a "Tension Trigger" and a "Makeshift Bomb", you can actually disarm the bomb if the trap is activated if you're fast enough to click it

I found a building in Diamond city that's basically a little church. You sit and pray, and they'll give you some words of encouragement. I think you get an exp boost from it. It's a nice little touch, and a way to cool down and think without going to the bar. Lord knows the SS probably needs some quiet thinking time when trying to cope with this new reality.

I love the mining hat and always keep one on hand since the Brought headlamp is way better than pipboy lights. Its also great to throw on Provisioners so you can spot them easy at night while they are out on patrol

So, in my last playthrough, I managed to have Deacon both in the Memory Den and outside in Goodneighbor as a trader. I don't remember how I managed this, but yeah, I cloned Deacon.
