Yup, I restore a backup on a new (same model) phone and the OS went belly up. A factory restore was needed, thanks !

Working good on thinq update too. I give my phone to wife and factory reset and now she give it to daughter. Always hard reset is good think when start new configuration.

Just some background; I have had a smart phone since 2010, but until 2 months ago I had only ever owned iPhones. I've jailbroken since iOS 6, I know how to run terminal and use commands, I've setup remote desktop from my iPhone to PCs, unlocked locked iPhones. My point is that I'm not technologically illiterate

Despite never using Android I feel like this should be very easy. In fact this used to be how to reset an iPhone back until around 2017 or so. But it won't work. Will you please check my steps? i must be committing a very dumb mistake that I can't figure out.

1. Press Volume Down

2. Them Press power button (at this point both buttons are being pressed simultaneously)

3. When the white LG screen appears, release power button
(keep volume down pressed)

4. After releasing power button, screen goes black.

5. Wait 2 seconds, then press power button again, while STILL pressing volume down. (Volume down button should have remained pressed during the entire process)

6. After less than 20-30 seconds the SAME LG white logo appears

7. I release power button for 2 seconds then press again (Volume down button pressed entire time)

7. Same thing happens, white LG screen reappears (becomes a loop of White LG screen appearing then disappearing, etc...)

Is 2 seconds too long to wait to press power again?

At the start Do I have to simultaneously press volume down & power @ same time. (I press voleme down first, then power)

When LG appears does power button need to be released IMMEDIATELY? I may have a 1-2 second delay.

I'm only getting white LG logo, should I be getting the red one?
