If it could boot Mac OS, I would use it non stop. Let’s see what happens at WWDC.

If you need a keyboard for your iPad, it’s a no brainer to get the Mac.

Can we get a headless MacBook Pro with a removable iPad Pro as its display already? When paired they run macOS; when split up the iPad runs “iPadOS Pro” allowing instant file syncing and sharing between the headless Macbookpro and iPad Pro…..

Can you even develop iPad apps on an iPad?
I mean, the hardware is amazing but as a software developer spending so much money on a device that I could only use to watch YouTube on is kinda silly.
Maybe for other professions is enough, but iPad OS is borderline useless in a "professional" sense for me.

I prefer the iPad Pro because of its diversity, I love the touchscreen and the option to remove it from the keyboard when watching media, also with app like good notes I love being able to write my notes down while studying instead of just having to type them out

Did anyone else notice the iPad in this video is not the new M4 version. The keyboard was the give away, they changed the hinge with no skin covering it and there are function keys and an aluminium frame on the key bed if you have the M4 version. Also you can't use the old Magic keyboard on the M4 iPad Pro.

Shocked at the iPad Pro's speaker performance compared to the Macbook Air (which is already better than the vast majority of PC laptops). Be interesting to see if they will be able to maintain that with just 5.1mm.

I just ordered the 13” 512GB. I use it for social stuff mostly and photo editing. I do like the iPad for certain things.

Macs for real work, iPads for casual stuff. Simple! Enjoy them both.

The MacBook is still the king of all laptops. IPad is just an oversized iPhone.

Thanks for the video.

I tried to use the outgoing iPad Pro model as a laptop. I bought the $300 Magic Keyboard and installed the iPad versions of Microsoft Office and other apps I use on my MacBook that are available for the iPad, or iPad apps that substitute for macOS apps I use.

I had a miserable experience, due to limitations of iPadOS and because the iPad versions of desktop software I use aren't that great - they have only a subset of the features of their macOS counterparts and they aren't designed as well.  As a result, I rarely use this device any more.

The iPad use cases that work best for me are better on my iPad Mini 6 than on my iPad Pro. They include: taking notes with the Apple Pencil at meetings, and using while traveling - e.g. looking up information about sights, tours, restaurants, museums, etc. You can do all this on a phone, but an iPad Mini's bigger screen is helpful and the Mini is ridiculously easy to travel with.

The iPad Pro is absolutely fantastic for people with certain use cases, and this new version with an OLED display is stunning. But as a laptop replacement for the average laptop user, the iPad Pro is a very expensive step backward.

crazy how they still have a premium laptop that costs over 1000 dollars and it still has a basic lcd 60 hz screen

I’m so frustrated.

I want a Macbook more than an iPad, but I know there is so much versatility with that. Better to enjoy content, play games, and just an all around entertainment hub, while also allowing you to be productive at a lesser rate because of its OS.

I still think the Macbook is the better product to own first and to keep long term. The iPad could be bought later at better discounts, or even refurbished/pre-owned and not feel like you’re losing out on anything.

I have used my M1 12.9" iPad Pro as my primary personal computer since it was released. - Love it! - This might sound silly to some, but I would've been more tempted to upgrade if they offered a larger screen size.

Just got my M4 13 inch iPad Pro and find it exactly what I need. My job is document intensive so having a pen available to mark up documents is fantastic. Also most of my work is done on Windows via Citrix, which surprisingly runs more smoothly than on a Macbook, smoother to switch in and back out, and way less hassle to log on. Also my employer has this strange policy of only allowing work email to run natively on iOS mail app and not everywhere else.

Bought a 15" MacBook air 24gb Ram 1TB storage in April. I am not feeling I made the wrong choice against an iPad pro M4. the iPad pro with16gb ram, 1TB, Pencil and Keyboard would have been nearly NZ$ 1000 more than my air configured MacBook and the peripheral connectivity is worse.

iPad is not a laptop replacement because Xcode does not run in iPad. Without the ability to compile code on an iPad makes it a limited system. iPad is a content display device because of this limitation. ONLY IF iPad supported Xcode, would the iPad be competitive with a laptop. This limitation is imposed by Apple's policy. Not by limitations of the hardware.

If they put the tandem OLED into the MacBook Air, then MacBook Air would be better. LCD low refresh rate is just depreciating for the MacBook Air.

Nice video. Can you do a comparison between iPad Pro M4 and MacBook Pro M3 Pro around $2.000? I think a lot of us are wondering for this price on iPad should we pick MacBook Pro instead? That’s including Magic Keyboard of course.
