I've been playing games in the TES series since 1998, and I *_love_* playing as a Mage-type character in these games...but...

Only TESV: Skyrim, so far, has come close to making me feel like a _Sith_ when using "Shock Damage" Spells.

@SuicidalFerret Thanks for the timely response. I've been looking into adding a bit of destruction to my sword and board character and I was having a hell of a time finding a video to show me lightning spells. Good Work!

All this time and I'm just learning that you can activate your runes by shooting them with destruction spells

@TheDestruckter You'll find fire, lightning and frost spells all from the same vendors, and you can use them all, yes. You can buy perks that upgrade fire, lightning and ice spells seperately if you want to specialize in a certain type, though eventually you will level up enough to upgrade them all if you want to use them all. A tip, when you get to a place called Whiterun you will end up talking to a wizard who asks for a dragonstone, if you ask him what he has for sale he will sell some spells

@sniprick The only lightning spell that requires two hands to cast is lightning storm, the first one in the video. The rest of them can be cast in one hand each, though obviously its stronger if you use 2

That is so cool. I got this game today, and all I have is flame and spark. Im probably going to try to master my skills in magic, so I cant wait to get these.

@sKACwebo It's the master lightning spell, when you hit 100 destruction talk to Faralda in winterhold and she'll give you a quest to get them

@vault101man Yes, you can buy a tome of invisibility from the illusion master at the college of winterhold once your illusion is high enough

Actually chain lightning, thunderbolt, and lightning bolt do look different. Thuderbolt being the strongest, if you notice has a much thicker blast while chain lightning is smaller but has much more lightning streaks. Lightning bolt is just 1 little beam.

everyone is a mage you access your spells in the menu where you equip weapons but instead of choosing items you select magic

Are you able to cast all lightning spells one-handed as well or do some require two hands in order to cast?

Lightning storm is op but it drains your magica really fast
