Only thing I hate is how big of a cliff hanger they left us on but a second season without Soul would’ve been nearly unwatchable.

Another thing is at least neither the Office nor Breaking Bad would've found a way to waste the time of a talented woman such as Carrie Anne Moss.

Another key difference. Acolyte is a streaming show breaking bad was a network show. They operate on different models. Where a streaming show may get cancelled even if low in cost if it doesn't help bring or keep people on the service. In network television they fill time slots and seasons are spread out over time to build it's audience. Network shows actually often have the opposite issue where they run too long.

Is it unfortunate that so many TV series get canceled after one season? Sure, but if there aren’t enough viewers, then it’s not strange to cancel a show. The viewership numbers don’t lie. Also, it certainly helps that The Office - Season 1 and Breaking Bad - Season 1 are light years better than anything in The Acolyte.

Another difference is that breaking bad and The Office start off as good shows in the first episode this show did not.

Thank you! Common sense! Not only was the show $180 million but the audience viewership DECREASED after each episode. With a show like Andor, which also cost a lot of money to make, we could actually see where that money was spent and it also had more episodes and longer runtimes per episode and viewership increased by the time the season ended.
