what amazes me is the fact Star Wars was a pioneer in presenting strong independent women, Leia was one of the most beloved characters in films history.
nobody complained because she was a wonderful character and she didn't feel forced AT ALL, this is while being a total kick ass that even Vader couldn't control her.

so why Disney feels such a strong urge to 'fix' something that doesn't require fixing is beyond me

I remember like 15, 20 years ago, I would fantasize about a Star Wars live action show. Something that has nothing to do with any established characters. Maybe a show about a bounty hunter duo, one a former Jedi and a Wookie pilot/muscle. A couple of anti-heroes taking out scoundrels around the universe. Or maybe a show about Mace Windu as a young Jedi making his way. Maybe something about the Rogue Squadron with barely any force users in it at all, a straight up rebel fighter squadron taking on the most dangerous missions. How did they botch these shows so badly? There's so much gold to be harvested yet they spend their time mining salt! Ugh. Damn you, Disney.
