DIY MODERN plywood desk

This week we are tackling a modern plywood desk for the industrial farmhouse. Let me be the first to say this build did NOT go according to plan. What was meant to be a rather simple modern plywood desk, eventually turned into a project full of learning and new techniques I had never tried before, from inlaying to pouring epoxy. I hope you enjoy the build!

Me and my dad were actually about to build something like this but you opened a whole new book of ideas for us so thank you.

That desk is lucky you're the one building it. i would have thrown the entire thing across the lawn and torched it for that burn look ha ha ha. Learning a new skill like baking lol .I was hoping you would show a shot of the biscuit joiner in the garbage can . Now I know why people don't use those anymore. Time for a dowel jig ... Take care my friend good luck with your next project .

Great video but your music/ tool sounds were sooo much louder than the spoken sections I had to keep turning the volume up and down over and over. Just something to think of. Desk looks great!

I subscribed because I think your channel has a lot of potential. I appreciate you having to make creative solutions for unintentional consequences. Constructive feedback would include showing better shots of your completed project and better volume consistency throughout your video. I look forward to seeing more in the future.

I have so many questions....Why are you working in the street? When youre letting the glue dry for a few hours, what else are you doing?

Hey man, that was a really cool move with the rebar inlay! Way to riff off of what the project gives you!!!

Hi I was commenting just in hopes you respond I was thinking of doing a plywood desk maybe something more simple for me and my wife by buying some metal legs online and then just basically having a 3/4”x24”x60” board but painting that and applying polyurethane do you think it would be strong enough or would I need to do more than one board?

Plywood's normally pretty stable. Where'd you find some that looks like a banana?

Great save ith the steel and epoxy! I love how it looks (the grain on the apron looks fantastic). I am just wondering if you stained it and if so, which stain are you using?
I am building a desk from a sheet of plywood, but I have no circular saw at home, so I have to rely on the cutting service from home depot. Do you think it'd look awful without an apron?
Thanks man! Great job with that desk!

Love the exposed plywood look. How does the top handle staining?

Hot glue goes a long way for over pouring on an inlay so you get a nice smooth surface.
