And I remember that after he saw the movie, he said he only had to change 1 line.

I will note that Weird Al was also denied access to various advance screenings. He ended up paying over a thousand dollars to attend a charity screening in order to get the song ready in time for its release.

BDG chiming in with bangers like this was exactly what I hoped would happen with the new host setup and I feel SO validated right now

Weird Al would never do something as horrendous as Jar Jar

Very minor, but the song was first released as a single a few days before the album.

I was hoping that he had to use the track listings on the soundtrack, which spoiled the movie for the rest of us.

Um actually, Ify really should have said "Friend of the show, Weird Al Yankovich" since he has appeared before!

If you had told me in the 80's many massive stars would no longer be relevant, but Weird Al would be I would have called you a liar.

"Please don't diss Wierd Al like that". Yeah, like wtf? The most wholesome dude in the industry and you're throwing shade? For shame

He talks about the events of the movie in the song and while they are pretty general statements there are specific enough details that I don't think he could have guessed or gleaned through second hand sources would have had to have gotten a advanced screening.

I had that album as a kid. Good times.

Weird Al also made a song for 1986’s The Transformers the movie. It’s called “Dare to be Stupid”, and it plays over the Autobots having a dance party with their new allies on a junkyard planet while the planet eating dark god Unicron draws ever closer to Cybertron

this was one of the rare questions where the answer really is "um, actually, none of that happened"

But I remember seeing the music video debut before the movie released and being so sad that it was a spoiler of the movie.

HOWEVER! He has stated that majority of the song minus a lyric or two were accurate to the actual film, prior to the advanced screening.

Even though the album came I out after the song was released as a single before the album release
