I am honestly shocked Oleg is not the go to guy. He not only attacks aggressively and does great damage, when the boss comes after me he chases after the boss. Such a reliable guy.

I love Lhutel the headless, but you didn't mention her weakness. She's a badaass, but doesn't keep aggro- sometimes she teleports, then instead of throwing spears, she walks back to the boss. It's like co-op with a bad teammate sometimes

What I think a lot of people don't realize is that most summons are situational. Almost every type of build has a summon that synergizes with it. Like tanks for casters and archers, ranged for aggressive builds, aggressive summons for teamwork, status effect summons for defensive builds etc.
It sorta works similarly to building squads in most traditional RPGs, you want a tank, a ranged dealer, a caster, a close range dealer etc.

I've had really good results from the Nightmaiden and Swordstress puppet. Their damage output isn't quite as good as some, but they juggle aggro like nobody's business and have an excellent variety of attacks at different engagement ranges.

As a mage, I like mimic tier because he casts a bunch of the utility spells that I tend to ignore in combat. But I can still see that magic buff on floor. He still seems to get aggro and does good damage too. Bosses tend to just bounce back and forth between us.

Thank you for doing this mate.

Gotta be honest: I haven’t even summoned a good 95% of the spirits so I had no idea that so many of them have such cool extra skills.

Solid topic. So many people pumping out ER content just to get paid and stay in the algorithm and almost none of them are saying anything useful or doing anything besides clickbait headlines they don’t deliver on or misdirect in some way. Irks me.

But this is helpful. Cheers and thanks again braddah.

The 5 shield guys spirit ash, when upgraded to +10, is an almost game-breaking thing against anything that's even remotely humanoid and doesn't jump around a lot. They just surround the boss and because there are 5 of them - the boss almost always will chase one of them and not me. They are perfect for magic-based characters - I let them keep the aggro and blast the boss with comet azur or something powerful like that.

Clean rot knight finlay should take an honorable mention. She gives a buff, has good health and damage and has a poison/ scarlet rot move that can proc with one hit.

I love the great shield soldiers. They keep aggro so well that my night comet/ staff of loss crushes most bosses from a distance with some occasional moonveil ash of war strikes for fast, far and hard hitting melee. I rarely have to stray from that setup.

If you plan to level above 200, Mimic is the best hands down. No other summon scales with you like Mimic.

in all honesty, my favourite spirit ashe is the skeletal militiaman ashes. when you learn to take aggro when needed they quite literally never die. Literally didnt level them past +1 and still survived incredibly long during even boss fights.

Rollo helped get me through Dragonlord Placidusax, which was vaporizing Tiche and my mimic. Rollo held up through both phases and even staggered him several times and prevented him from teleporting so often in phase 2 which helped me get my finishing hits in.

Awesome video! But has some sound been removed? It cuts out at the end a couple times. Still awesome!

Nice to see Lhutel get some love, they were my homie for the longest time and saved my life in so many situations that I still keep them on my quick item hotbar even now

The thing I like about mimic is that I can give him any build that I want I think the versatility is what makes him so good. What I would do is have him hold 2 seals and have erdtree heal and scarlet rot breath and golden vow and then I would quickly change my build back and it was constant healing back and forth and so much damage

Just starting the video but I've been using demi humans just to switch up. Love it ! There's 5 of them

I mostly use the wolf pack summons. Those three wolves practically keep the enemy focused on them as they constantly attack whomever im fighting.

I've been using the Spirit Jelly ashes for most of my first run and I love it. Little dude is pretty tanky at even +2, he stays out of the way usually, and he builds up poison
