I’m embarrassed to admit, I beat the entire game without knowing you needed to ACTIVATE the great runes to gain their effect.

Use frost if you want another “buff” for all summons/ashes. It applies a debuff to the target, meaning all your friends will benefit too. Great on radan for this reason

Big thanks for saying what the rune does. Never bothered to figure it out because it sounded like it was just for summoning other players/invading other players. knowing that it works on ash is a game changer.

It would definitely help if FromSoft item descriptions actually *described the item’s effects* rather than this poetic vagueness they roll with. “Gives a blessing of blood to phantoms” means absolute hotdog water.

Thanks for the video

This is a crazy powerful buff. I've been playing a dex/int build, far from optimized for bleed, and I tried this on Malenia using Rivers of Blood which is the only bleed weapon I have. I didn't let the Mimic solo her, but together we had her killed in 15-20 seconds. It was insane.

Finally, a clear and concise explanation of how to use that great rune, thank you.

Now with this OP summon, you have the honour of getting to fight WITH it. This is awesome

It also buffs you for pvp and gives you a phantom rune, that allows you to buff npcs in the enemies world.

I've used it to blood buff many a dragon

The Archer Ashes (from Nokstella) summons 3 of them and they use frost arrows. Running a bleed build with a spare dagger or off'hand ashe of war with fire can let you reset the frostbite meter so they can proc again. Also you can incantation buff most ashes with things like Sacred Vow/Erd Blessing. Lastly you can use the curse blood throwing pots to increase aggression against specific enemies. :P

I shall start using great rune/rune arc now. I love using my spirit summons.

Can use this on any build if you craft blood fly pot, since they can proc the bleed, same as how you can use frost in any build, if you build a frost pot. So if you're running a build that doesn't use any of that, like, say, a mage, just use the pots. Alternatively, you can use crossbows, with bleed bolts if you have the stats for repeating crossbow. The merchant in mog's zone sells infinite bleed bolts.

I beat Malenia for the first time with a bleed build and I'm really excited to face her again with this Rune active now. Awesome video.

While you mentioned the Fanged Imp spirit ashes, I'm _WAY_ more curious about how much of an impact this has on Omenkiller Rollo & Bloodhound Knight Floh as they both have the ability to proc bleed quite effectively. I can see this making them WAY more appealing choices in certain circumstances.

While they don't have the versatility of the Mimic Tear to min-max with equipment changes, I think it'd be entertaining to make yourself a build themed around the Imps, Omenkillers, or Bloodhound Knights that uses this Rune to have a summon act as the primary boss-killer with you providing them support.

The mimic being suplexed over and over was so funny

Another thing to make Bleed builds way more powerful than any other build. You'd think that a Scarlet Rot build would be at least close to a bleed build (given how rare Scarlet Rot weapons are), but nope.. Poison is pretty pathetic too. DLC needs something to make the other status effects more potent (or at least closer to the Bleed builds). Maybe a Rune for Poison or Scarlet Rot builds.

This is the only real use for the rune. If they nerf this it may as well be removed from the game

If you are evil, you can also put a great heal spell on you and summon the mimic then run a bleed build. That way Mimic will trully be able to solo everything. You won't need Let me solo her anymore. The mimic can do the same as long as enemies is not immune to bleed. If they are, just equip a heavy weapon and let the mimic go wild. Don't do this on your first run though, it wont be fun.
