It's interesting to see the Youtube experts criticize the cop here. In reality, she showed up in 15 minutes for a lost dog. A big Malinois jumped at her face the moment she arrived. She knew the area well enough to find the owner of the dog without any tags or scans in less than an hour. I don't see how she could have done this call any better.

These sorts of videos are so beneficial to learn dog behavior and type of attention one needs to develop.

You did absolutely everything right. New dog owners, old dog owners, non dog owners, please pay attention to the level head this man had. Great job.

Such a cool interaction, great control with Ronin aswell especially off leash. Good thing everything was under control and safe till the end! I love the explanations on body language, very educational.

Dog owner handled this situation very well. The stray did not seem aggressive. Just lost and looking to socialize and be part of the group. Sad. Hope he finds a good home.

What a great job you did controlling the situation, even helping the police officer when she didn't trust the GSD. Nervousness is bad for those interactions.

Nice to see people working together to help... and so happy he was returned in record time. He seemed very exited to be in the company of other dogs. Maybe they will meet up in better circumstances in the future!

Thank you for not letting this dog get hit by a car.

😂 that cop shows up to get a lost dog after you’ve been handling the lost GSD and 3 of your own dogs and her first words are “um, that dog needs to be on a leash”
My first words would’ve been “you’re fucking joking right”

Great video! Have owned five GSDs, done obedience & GSD rescue. Excellent management on your part in handling a delicate situation. Well done!

Honestly the most confident dog in this video was the German Shepherd. Dogs know when they are out numbered yet it was still confident enough to walk up to you.

I think you just solved so many problems for me. I'm a first time (GSD) dog owner and my dog does a lot of that insistent sniffing and I was thinking the only reason he was getting other dogs at the park wanting to bite him was that he was in tact... I had no idea that sniffing was a prelude to humping & a way to test the waters. I tried to read and watch YouTube dog videos to learn about dogs when I got him, but this video was more helpful than most of the videos I've seen. Thank you for detailing how dogs interact when meeting other dogs.

He's got the 'hots' for Roxie! When the Shepherd crossed the street, did you notice he was in the cross walk?? They're so smart!
