Started my mining heritage in Washington State, Kittitas County, Swawk Creek area. Was so 'taken' by finding a little color in my pan & enjoying conversations with old miners with tall tales, that I gained an engineering degree & sold to the mines (Au, Silver, Rare-earth, Borates and aggregates) for 30 years.... On a personal level, I tell 'greenhorns' that mostly what I find is "LEVERITE"... "it's not Gold, so ya leave-er-rite there".... every old miner knows this joke.
