Holy shit, I remember when she went missing, her town was barely an hour or so from my home. Her disappearance grated on me for weeks. After she went so damn long being gone, and given what he’d done to her parents? I honestly thought she was dead. When my mom called me and told me - a complete stranger who had literally never even met her - that she was alive, I broke down in tears.

how often this happens is actually concerning. as a true crime fan, a lot of time i see this in the cases i watch/research and the randomness of half the murders you see is just terrifying. i have seen a case where some random man from a completely different town visits somewhere and randomly, with no criminal history and a great life, decides to kill someone. people are really crazy, you gotta watch out for them.
