Joseph Kallinger wasn't born a monster. He was turned into one by years of horrific abuse at the hands of his adoptive parents. Even though I'm glad that Kallinger was never ever released from prison, I feel sorry for him. If he had loving parents and a caring environment that he grew up on, he would not had become a serial killer and his victims would still be alive as well.

I've noticed a pattern among some killers who have been caught and interviewed, where they don't necessarily feel remorse, but they understand fundamentally that what they did was wrong and as a result do not want to be out in public because they know they lack impulse control.
