Why do Christians still struggle with sin?

This battle happens daily for me. Some days the spirit wins, some day my flesh wins and I feel terrible. Lord help deliver me.

Two things I think God put in my mind while watching this video

1. You can’t expect to fully turn from sin when you don’t have a serious problem with it

2. Don’t use the “everybody struggles with sin” to justify yourself in sin

The Christian life seems like a roller coaster of ups and downs for me. Sometimes I'm living in sin and sometimes I'm living in victory. It's really weird and confusing. Definitely makes me question my assurance of salvation, not that I'm calling God a liar, but sometimes I don't see the fruits of the Holy Spirit in my life.
